It looked bad at first. However, the Cavs knew they had to beat this substandard team. They played well overall, but Shaq gets all the applause tonight!
O’Neal had a season high of 21-points and most shockingly, he made 7/10 free-throws. YES! Shaq posted 70-percent shooting at the stripe and 7/9 FG. At this point the Cavs new their main goal was to dispose of the trash (The Wizards).
Shaq wasn’t the only star on the floor. Boobie Gibson produced 4/5 three point shooting! His partner Mo did a great job also, both hitting a bunch of 3s in the 4th quarter to sink this team. Together they were 7/9 from downtown.
To add to Gibson’s spectacular game he also played superb defense, drawing 3-offensive fouls. He really needs to get more credit, especially coming off the bench.
The Cavs bench tonight did pretty well, scoring 24-points. I guess they needed that extra spark to make up for Anthony Parker’s sloppy game. Besides Parker, everyone else did exceptional against their unworthy “rivals.”
Even with LeBron resting on the bench, the Cavs peeled their lead to 14-points. In the end, it was a 30-point flip. Who said they couldn’t handle themselves?
Delonte West wasn’t very effective on scoring but his defense was great, as usual.
He finished with 4-points and 2-steals. Varejao played great defense as well. He doubled up with 10-pts, 10-boards and gave the Cavs 4-offensive boards, which turned into 2nd chance points.
The Shaq attack is finally working. They found a way to squeeze The Big Diesel into their offense. He had Washington’s entire front-line in foul trouble and he was just basically unstoppable.
Bring on Chicago.
